Johnathon Redmon believes in a person-centered approach when it comes to therapy, with a history of working with people experiencing a variety of mental health and addiction problems.

My approach

Using a person-centered approach means that I want to get to the root cause of what is causing you to want to seek therapy. Mental health is multifaceted, and it is important to dive deep into your past, your family, as well as your current environment and relationships.

My focus

I primarily see adults with both mental health and addiction concerns. Mental health concerns can range from depression and anxiety to grief and loss, to trauma, to difficulty coping with everyday stressors. Addiction can range from alcohol, cannabis, illicit substances, video games, or gambling.

My communication style

My communication style is very collaborative and calm. I want you to be able to be comfortable with me, as you will likely be discussing things that may be difficult to talk about. I want to keep a neutral stance to help you find alternative perspectives, while also being empathetic to your concerns.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist due to my belief that we all have a duty to positively contribute to society. I have a family history of substance abuse, and I wanted to be able to help people struggling with becoming sober. Addiction and mental health concerns often go hand in hand, and being able to help a larger population is why I sought to help a more general population.

My goals for you

Goal setting should be very collaborative and is one of the most important parts of therapy. I want to work with you to get an understanding of how you will know your therapy has been successful, and that can only be done through the setting of achievable, measurable, and time-sensitive goals.

My first session with you

Our first session will be a deep dive into your history and what brought you to therapy. Often times we struggle to understand how our past shapes our ability to cope with our present. I want to have a deep understanding of what you seem to be important moments and relationships in your life, to better understand how that may contribute to your present concerns.
