Emily Kuligowski I have nine years of experience as an emergency room nurse and currently work as a clinical manager on an inpatient behavioral health unit. I hold a master’s degree in forensic psychology and am studying at Purdue Global to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). As part of my training, I will be learning alongside your therapist during my supervised preceptorship.
My passion for mental health care grew from my work in the ER, where I saw that patients’ mental health needs were not always met. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career focused on improving access to mental health treatment. After graduation, I hope to help more people receive the care and support they need.
I understand that therapy is a personal space, and meeting someone new can feel unfamiliar. My role is to learn under my preceptor’s guidance, with respect for your privacy and your experiences. Your comfort matters, and you’re welcome to ask your therapist questions or share any concerns about my presence. Thank you for considering being part of my learning experience.
