Javen Essinger, MFTT is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee at Intentional Life Therapy and is completing his master’s at National University. He sees individuals, couples, and families working through anxiety, depression, relationship strain, and big life transitions.

Javen’s approach is relational and systemic, considering how family history, current relationships, and the way clients see themselves shape the challenges they bring to therapy. His style is warm, direct, and collaborative. He invites clients to guide the focus of their work and aims to create a space where they can speak openly and honestly.

Javen was drawn to this work through his own life experiences and a lasting interest in how families and relationships shape who we become. Outside the office, he is a partner and stepparent.

He provides therapy under the clinical supervision of Menwa Gentle, IMFT. Javen is able to see clients independently who have Medicare, Medicaid, or need to be seen on a sliding scale fee due to financial barriers to treatment.
